Today's maker is my new friend Kacie. She is the artist behind Persimmon Prints. I am always interested in the names of people's shops. A traditional family Christmas dish in her home growing up was Persimmon Pudding. It is a very labor-intensive dish that takes hours to make but one the family always looked forward to as a very special part of the holidays. In Kacie's words:
"SIMILARLY, PERSIMMON PRINTS IS A LABOR OF LOVE. WHEN I'M IN THE MIDST OF A PROJECT AND IT SEEMS LIKE FOREVER BEFORE IT'S NEAR COMPLETION, I AM REMINDED OF ALL THE HARD WORK THAT GOES INTO THAT SWEET TASTE OF PERSIMMON PUDDING. GOOD THINGS ARE ALWAYS WORTH WAITING FOR."
I recently got one of her shirts that I love.
I am not a "bling" person (my daughter blings enough for 5 people) but this shirt has about one square centimeter of shiny gold on it. I can abide that much sparkle in my life.
